Maven is a marketplace for cohort-based expert-led courses, with 500+ live courses and $100M+ earned by instructors. The platform uses a cohort model achieving 80%+ engagement vs. 5-10% for video learning. Maven has raised $25M from Andreessen Horowitz and First Round.
As Growth Lead, you will own supply and demand acquisition across three major channels:
**Lightning Lessons** (primary focus): Maven's #1 student lead-gen channel publishing 300+ lessons monthly, generating 20-30K new leads/month at 1-2% conversion with $0 paid marketing spend. You will run the Lightning Lesson series end-to-end, including campaign planning, positioning, communications, speaker enablement, and social activation. You'll also acquire new distribution and brand partnerships (recent examples: Clay, Amplitude, Lenny Rachitsky).
**B2B (Maven for Business)**: Recently closed $500K+ in pilot deals from 10+ enterprise partners (Salesforce, Notion, Microsoft, Walmart, Cigna, Lattice, Expedia, Mozilla, Guild). You will own the B2B-focused L&D speaker series, turning it into a repeatable quarterly content engine. You'll build and manage lead scoring, routing, and handoff to sales. You'll also produce case studies with lighthouse customers in collaboration with the B2B sales lead.
**Social**: Maven has scaled organically through expert UGC (average expert has 25K LinkedIn followers). You'll activate experts to promote their courses and Maven's social presence (LinkedIn 50K, Instagram 62K, TikTok 20K, X 19K followers).
You will report to Ka Kei Ho (Head of Product) and work closely with Mona Huang (Lifecycle Marketing). Maven is a 20-person, high-trust, high-ownership team that moves fast, writes often, and biases toward action. The company is fully remote with no-meeting Wednesdays, company demos on Fridays, and twice-yearly week-long offsites.
**Requirements:**
- 5-10 years in growth or end-to-end marketing roles in a startup environment
- Experimentation-minded, highly adaptable, natural problem solver with ability to set up MVPs for new growth bets and scale existing channels
- Excellent writer with high bar for content quality (written and visual); strong intuition for engaging social content
