Justworks is a HR and benefits platform helping small businesses manage payroll, HR, and compliance. The Product Foundations domain owns the horizontal infrastructure and experiences that enable Justworks' core product to function as a unified system across web, mobile, Slack, and embedded workflows.
As Group Product Manager for Product Foundations, you will lead multiple product squads including Core Product (home, navigation, search, documents, settings), Communications (transactional messaging, in-app tasks, email), and Reporting & Analytics (admin-facing intelligence). This is a people-management role overseeing direct reports who are product managers and individual contributors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning product vision and roadmap for Core Product, Communications, and Reporting/Analytics squads
- Translating company objectives into actionable team goals and OKRs
- Coaching and developing direct reports in strategy, craft, and execution
- Partnering with adjacent product domains to define system contracts and boundaries
- Facilitating adoption of shared infrastructure across the organization
- Collaborating with Technology, Marketing, and Revenue leadership on platform strategy
- Ensuring platform health compounds rather than fragments as the product grows
You'll balance hands-on product management with significant time teaching, coaching, and enabling cross-functional teams. The role requires deep expertise in complex regulatory spaces (fintech, healthcare, HR tech), customer empathy, and the ability to think systemically about how foundational layers enable other teams to ship faster. Success means every team at Justworks can complete jobs from wherever customers already are, and the platform remains cohesive as it scales.
