YipitData, a unicorn-valued market research and analytics firm ($1B+ valuation, $475M Series funding from Carlyle Group), is seeking a GRC Analyst to own governance, risk, and compliance workstreams across the organization.
In this role, you will drive GRC initiatives from initial request through evidence collection, testing, remediation, and completion. You'll partner with Security, IT, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and People teams to understand business operations, identify control gaps, and maintain audit readiness year-round.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning GRC workstreams end-to-end, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
- Testing security controls rigorously to verify they work as designed, not just that documentation exists
- Conducting risk assessments and helping teams develop realistic, effective remediation plans
- Mapping controls to SOC 2 and other compliance frameworks to maximize efficiency
- Coordinating recurring activities: access reviews, control testing, policy reviews, risk updates, audit evidence requests
- Evaluating vendor security practices against YipitData standards
- Supporting customer security questionnaires with accurate, validated, consistent responses
- Translating compliance requirements into clear actions for non-GRC teams
- Drafting and maintaining policies, control narratives, risk records, and program documentation
- Tracking findings and remediation commitments, following up with owners to prevent issues from stalling
- Identifying opportunities to simplify and automate repetitive GRC work

The role is fully remote across the US (with flexibility to work from NYC headquarters or other office hubs if desired). Most team members work East Coast hours, though schedules are flexible.
