Base Power is a distributed battery and grid modernization company rebuilding America's electricity infrastructure. This role leads government relations strategy across Texas, managing relationships with state legislators, the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), and ERCOT to advance policy that enables Base's growth.
You will own Base's Texas legislative strategy, setting priorities and building coalitions with industry groups, consumer advocates, and other stakeholders focused on distributed energy resources. Key responsibilities include monitoring the Texas Capitol and PUCT across legislative sessions, hearings, and regulatory dockets; drafting legislation, testimony, comment letters, and position papers; managing external lobbyists and trade groups; and representing Base at the Capitol, PUCT hearings, industry forums, and conferences.
You'll translate complex regulatory developments into clear business recommendations, develop briefing materials and policy papers that position Base as a credible voice on grid modernization, and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. The role sits within the Legal, Regulatory, and Policy team and requires close collaboration across the company to understand products and priorities.
This is a high-ownership position on a small team where you'll help set Base's legislative direction and drive meaningful outcomes. The company operates at startup pace with shifting priorities, so the role may expand based on business needs. Base emphasizes in-person collaboration, ownership mentality, and commitment to the mission of rebuilding the grid.
