Salary: USD 115,000 - 160,000 / annual
Astranis is a venture-backed aerospace company building advanced satellites for high orbits, serving large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. The company has five satellites on orbit, over $1 billion in commercial contract backlog, and has raised $750M+ from top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Blackrock, and Fidelity.
The Government Contracts Manager will join a lean legal team supporting Astranis's rapid growth phase, reporting to the General Counsel. This role bridges legal and business functions, providing wide ownership across multiple business areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support compliance activities in collaboration with internal teams and external consultants, managing document production and execution
- Manage USG contract administration, coordinating closely with Legal to ensure compliance with FAR clauses, representations, certificates, and proposal requirements
- Monitor and engage with administrative proceedings across USG and other national government agencies
- Execute policy and regulatory strategies supporting Astranis business priorities
- Interact regularly with government program managers, senior decision makers, industry partners, and stakeholder associations
The ideal candidate brings both business and legal training with customer-facing experience in the civil space community, including NASA and Department of Defense. You'll work cross-functionally with senior management, program management, engineering, operations, and legal teams.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (J.D. a plus but not required)
- Working knowledge of civil space organizations and programs
- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation and USG contract structures
- Working knowledge of government regulatory structures for commercial space industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Bonus qualifications include commercial SATCOM industry knowledge and EAR/ITAR expertise.
