Salary: USD 120,000 - 140,000 / annual

FlixBus is seeking a Government Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Lead to drive market expansion by securing access to critical transportation infrastructure and managing relationships with key stakeholders in a highly regulated environment. In this role, you will lead the company's efforts to establish and expand bus stop and station locations across the country. You will develop strategic partnerships with public and private entities, navigate complex government processes, and ensure compliance while securing access to high-value transportation hubs. Key responsibilities include: • Securing high-impact locations for bus stops and stations by leveraging government relationships and private-sector negotiation skills • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies to support business growth • Leading regional strategy and aligning commercial objectives with government policies by identifying opportunities and mitigating regulatory risks • Representing the company in discussions with transportation authorities and media, and preparing materials for hearings and public consultations • Leading site acquisition efforts, ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions • Developing partnerships with businesses, transit agencies, and property owners to enhance station access and amenities • Serving as the primary contact for station-related and government relations matters, advocating for the company in infrastructure planning forums • Managing up to two direct reports, with responsibilities evolving over time • Up to 30% business travel as needed FlixBus offers a dynamic work environment with competitive pay, strong growth opportunities, and a tech-driven approach to making travel more accessible, sustainable, and affordable. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities • Demonstrated success in owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders to support business growth • 2+ years of project management experience with strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems • 1+ years of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines • Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder management, and analyzing policies to identify risks and opportunities • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal abilities, with experience presenting to senior officials and business leaders • Familiarity with real estate transactions, land-use planning, and infrastructure development • Experience with RFPs and grant writing is a plus but not required The company encourages applications from candidates who may not meet 100% of the requirements but believe they could have an impact.
