Northwood Space is a modern space infrastructure company building a global network of phased array ground stations to enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions including national security, global connectivity, and disaster response. The company designs, builds, and rapidly deploys scalable systems that power next-generation space missions.
As a Global Sites Engineer, you will be a technical expert, field operator, and builder responsible for launching and maintaining Northwood's worldwide network of ground stations. This is a hands-on role based at the Los Angeles headquarters with frequent travel to deployment sites globally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploy antennas, power systems, racks, and infrastructure at Northwood sites across the globe, traveling to sites and leading from the front
- Lead design, production, and test campaigns for new electrical and mechanical ground support equipment
- Design site architecture, hardware, and processes, optimizing for deployment speed and cost
- Oversee live operations, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues to maintain peak station performance
- Collaborate with domestic and international partners, contractors, and network providers to coordinate deployments
You will work side-by-side with internal and external teams across multiple engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, hands-on problem-solver, and detail-oriented professional who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to grow into an exceptional site engineer.
Basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, or related engineering discipline, plus relevant work experience, internships, or hands-on project involvement. Preferred qualifications include cross-disciplinary engineering capability, demonstrated success executing large projects on tight timelines, hands-on field experience with basic tools, CAD proficiency, strong communication and project management skills, and willingness to travel internationally.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and market alignment.
