Scale is seeking a Global Payroll Analyst to coordinate and manage technical payroll accounting activities across the company's global footprint. This role is central to ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for a rapidly growing AI company. Key responsibilities include executing multi-frequency domestic and international payroll cycles, managing compensation inputs, deductions, and employee lifecycle changes. You will perform rigorous pre- and post-payroll audits, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure strict adherence to multi-jurisdictional tax, labor, and company regulations. The role encompasses payroll accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, management reporting, and year-end tax activities (e.g., W-2s). You'll operate as the primary payroll help desk resource for employee inquiries and coordinate daily with external vendors, PEO/EOR partners, and tax agencies. You will leverage HRIS and modern technologies, including AI tools, to maintain confidential records, adapt to legislative changes, and continuously improve workflow efficiency and accuracy. This is an opportunity to work with a high-growth company serving industry leaders like Meta, Ernst & Young, Mayo Clinic, and U.S. government agencies. Required qualifications include 2+ years processing international payroll with working knowledge of PEO/EOR systems, strong problem-solving and technical aptitude, and fluency in English. Ideal candidates have experience with ADP, understanding of domestic and international payroll law, retirement systems (401(k), IRC 125, HSA), tax withholding, and benefits administration.
