Bitwise Asset Management, a rapidly growing crypto asset manager with $15B+ in assets under management, is seeking an experienced Global Controller to design and lead a world-class global accounting function across multiple jurisdictions. This is a hands-on, strategic role reporting to senior leadership.
You will own the integrity of the company's accounting environment, establish consistent policies and reporting standards across all global entities, and build the processes, controls, and documentation required to support sophisticated audit scrutiny and continued growth. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable operating at strategic and detailed levels—designing scalable accounting infrastructure while independently assessing complex accounting issues, challenging existing practices, and driving resolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the global accounting function and serving as the senior accounting authority across all global entities
- Designing and maintaining a scalable global accounting architecture with consistent policies, processes, account structures, and reporting standards
- Independently assessing accounting practices, financial statement balances, and key processes across entities within the first 30 days; identifying risks and driving issues through resolution
- Owning the global accounting policy framework and serving as the technical accounting authority for complex and non-routine matters
- Managing relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Building and leading an accounting team to support growth
- Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
