Baseten is seeking a Global Capacity Manager to lead the infrastructure engine powering mission-critical AI inference for companies like Cursor, Notion, and Abridge. This is a hands-on senior engineering role bridging high-finance asset management and deep infrastructure engineering. You will own end-to-end capacity management for Baseten's global GPU fleet, from securing multi-million dollar GPU clusters to building automation ensuring 99.9% uptime across multi-cloud environments. Key responsibilities include: - Leading specialized GPU pods (H100, B200 Blackwell) through their full lifecycle: acquisition, orchestration, and maintenance - Architecting and executing complex workload migrations and deployment drains with strict regional and compliance requirements - Designing the next-generation capacity management system to handle 10x GPU volume growth - Building financial models for GPU spend ROI and unit economics to ensure profitable scaling - Partnering with SRE, Infrastructure, and FDE teams to optimize operational efficiency - Leading incident response during capacity crunches, rapidly re-coordinating workloads Example initiatives include architecting Baseten's first Blackwell GPU cluster deployment, building multi-cloud capacity management systems to move workloads across regions for cost/latency optimization, and developing automated Go-based operators to identify and repair unhealthy GPU nodes within an hour. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; 5+ years in high-growth environments (preferably hyperscalers like GCP, AWS, Azure or GPU providers); deep Kubernetes expertise (taints, cordons, draining, custom operators); production-level Go or Python; strong financial literacy; collaborative mindset. Baseten recently raised $1.5B Series F led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital.
