Turnitin is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its International Accounting Team in a remote role based in the Philippines. This position is central to maintaining Turnitin's financial integrity across US and international entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledgers and accounting records for Turnitin's US and international entities
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for non-revenue GL accounts
- Execute month-end close processes including cash account reconciliation, prepayments, accruals, and payroll journal posting
- Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis reports for management
- Work with outsourced accounting providers on statutory account preparation
- Support year-end audits and coordinate with the tax team on VAT and corporate tax reporting
- Contribute to cash management and cash forecasting initiatives
- Drive process improvements to strengthen internal controls and reduce close cycle time
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to internal stakeholders
- Participate in developing and establishing accounting policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA designation)
- Proven accounting and finance experience in fast-paced environments
- Advanced Excel proficiency and hands-on experience with accounting systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Self-starter mentality with proactive problem-solving approach
- Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and with geographically distributed teams
