Persona is a configurable identity verification platform serving leading companies like Reddit and OpenAI. The company is growing rapidly and seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its accounting team in San Francisco.
In this role, you will own global balance sheet accounting across Persona's multi-entity, multi-currency operations. You'll work hands-on in NetSuite to ensure accurate entity-level and consolidated financial reporting, maintain intercompany accounting, and execute month-end close processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the general ledger across multiple international legal entities in NetSuite
- Supporting global tax compliance efforts, including coordination with external tax advisors for income tax, VAT/GST, and statutory filings
- Preparing and maintaining tax-related balance sheet reconciliations and schedules
- Partnering with Payroll and People Ops to ensure accurate accounting for global payroll, benefits, and employer taxes
- Managing balance sheet accounts for international subsidiaries (cash, intercompany, accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, tax accounts)
- Executing the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and consolidation
- Maintaining and reconciling intercompany transactions, including billing, settlements, and eliminations
- Supporting multi-currency accounting, including foreign currency remeasurement and translation under US GAAP
You should have 4+ years of accounting or audit experience, ideally in SaaS or usage-based revenue environments. Strong knowledge of US GAAP (including ASC 740), experience with US federal/state and international tax frameworks (VAT/GST), and proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting systems are required. You'll be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, Payroll, Legal, and external advisors.
