Culture Amp is seeking a General Counsel & Company Secretary to lead its global legal function and serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team and Board. This is a C-suite role managing Culture Amp's legal strategy across a global SaaS business serving 25 million employees across 6,000+ companies.
You will own Culture Amp's end-to-end legal strategy, balancing risk management with business objectives. Key responsibilities include acting as Company Secretary to manage Board governance and statutory obligations; advising the executive team on high-stakes decisions including AI adoption, capital raises, M&A, regulatory compliance, and major commercial contracts; leading and developing the global legal team including Directors of Legal (Commercial, and Product & Privacy); establishing risk management and GRC frameworks; owning global privacy strategy aligned with GDPR and Australian Privacy Act requirements; and fostering a culture of pragmatic risk mitigation that enables business growth.
You'll work closely with a distributed global organization and bring strategic judgment on emerging issues like AI governance. The role requires deep expertise in corporate law, governance, and in-house legal leadership, ideally in SaaS or technology sectors. You should have 15+ years of post-qualification experience, proven board-advisory experience, practical knowledge of AI applications in legal work, strong privacy law expertise, demonstrated team leadership capability, excellent drafting skills, and exceptional stakeholder management abilities. Experience leading GRC functions and familiarity with AI governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 42001) is valued.
