Pencil is building an AI Operating System for marketing that aggregates leading AI models, enforces enterprise governance, and enables brands like Diageo, L'Oréal, and Unilever to move from creative brief to live, on-brand campaigns in minutes across markets, channels, and languages.
As a Gen AI Creative Technologist, you will bridge advertising craft with GenAI speed by building and operating agentic and nodal creative workflows. You'll connect insight, concept, copy, imagery, and video into scalable systems that enable creative teams and clients to move from idea to finished advertising faster without sacrificing quality or strategic grounding.
You'll work day-to-day with Art Directors and Creative Directors, bringing deep hands-on fluency in GenAI tools and workflows to their briefs. Your role is not to set creative vision but to be the technical expert in the room who knows how to make technology deliver on it.
Key responsibilities include: discovering and documenting workflows, challenges, and operational requirements through client and stakeholder meetings; designing and building production-grade prompts, workflows, agents, and creative systems; developing repeatable, scalable frameworks supporting multiple brands and channels; owning workflow governance, quality control, and system reliability; leading training and adoption initiatives; and evaluating emerging AI models and platforms for technical fit.
You'll need 2-3 years in advertising creative development, hands-on experience with GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Gemini), proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, and strong communication skills. Agency experience is preferred. The growth path leads toward Art Director, Creative Director, and Head of Creative roles, emphasizing technical leadership and architecture over pure creative direction.
