Apple's CAD Group is seeking a senior engineer to develop an advanced analytic platform for IR/EM (Integrated Resistance/Electromagnetic) analysis in silicon design. This role bridges machine learning, natural language processing, and electronic design automation (EDA) to create innovative solutions that identify and recommend improvements to power grid integrity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing ML and LLM applications to understand, explain, and interact with EDA software
- Designing interactions with extensive compute infrastructure
- Generating customized reports and dashboards to identify IR/EM issues and recommend solutions
- Automating and streamlining IR/EM analysis and signoff flows
- Collaborating with design groups (physical design, circuit design, power, package, system, technology) on IR/EM requirements
- Working with EDA vendors to enhance solutions and improve efficiency
Required qualifications:
- BS degree plus 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithm development
- Experience writing ML algorithms, implementing NLP, or using LLMs in production
- Proficiency with EDA tools, CAD flows, or Tool Flow Methodology (TFM)
- Expert-level UNIX shell, Python, and version control
Preferred qualifications:
- PNR (Place and Route) implementation and/or EMIR analysis flow experience
- Electrical engineering ML applications
- LLM fine-tuning, retrieval augmented generation, and prompt engineering
- Track record leading industry electrical engineering software projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills
