Scopely is seeking a Game Designer to serve as the sole Design owner on Wheel of Fortune, reporting directly to the Game Director. This is a unique opportunity to shape the experience of a beloved franchise played globally for over a decade on a small, high-impact team.
You will own the full design lifecycle: defining the product roadmap, ensuring flawless user experience, and collaborating across Product, Engineering, Art, Analytics, LiveOps, and QA to bring features from concept to release. Key responsibilities include writing and maintaining design specifications, planning the production roadmap and LiveOps calendar, driving feature optimizations to improve gameplay quality and player engagement (levels, puzzles, battle pass, challenges), and maintaining a Design Owner mentality that balances player needs, franchise strategy, and business goals. You'll stay current with market trends and best practices to inform roadmap decisions and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Required qualifications: 2–5 years of professional game design experience with demonstrated proficiency in level design, systems design, game tuning, content design, UX design, and design documentation. You must have deep understanding of free-to-play monetization mechanics, game balancing, and virtual economy management. Strong communication skills (remote and in-person), ability to work independently in a dynamic international environment, and a strong analytical mindset with data-driven design sensibility are essential.
Bonus experience includes free-to-play mobile gaming in casual/social or word/trivia genres, and familiarity with Wheel of Fortune TV show mechanics and rules.
