Thea Energy is developing next-generation fusion energy technology using stellarator physics and computer-controlled planar coil arrays to create a faster, simpler path to commercial fusion. The company is reinventing traditional stellarator architectures to enable zero-emission, limitless energy production. As a Fusion Plasma Physicist specializing in Diagnostics & Fast-Ion Transport, you will serve as an architect of plasma performance projections for Thea Energy's fusion devices. Your core responsibilities include: • Developing and applying advanced kinetic and fluid models to characterize heat, particle, and momentum transport in highly-optimized stellarator geometries • Translating fundamental plasma physics into actionable engineering constraints that guide equilibrium and coil optimization • Designing and implementing diagnostic strategies to measure fast-ion behavior and validate transport models • Collaborating with the equilibrium and coil design teams to ensure operational scenarios meet performance targets • Contributing to the physics foundation that enables successful demonstration of next-generation fusion devices You will work at the intersection of theoretical plasma physics and practical fusion engineering, taking responsibility for ensuring that plasma transport physics is accurately captured in device designs and operational planning. Your work directly impacts the feasibility and performance of Thea Energy's stellarator approach. This role requires deep expertise in plasma transport theory, diagnostic techniques, and the ability to bridge fundamental physics with engineering constraints. You will be part of a team focused on accelerating the commercialization of fusion energy through innovative physics and engineering.
