Alan is a prevention-focused health insurance company serving 1M+ members across Europe, integrating insurance, prevention, and care into a unified platform. The Tech Foundations team enables product crews by building world-class infrastructure, developer experience, security, and operational excellence.
You'll join a 800+ person engineering organization that moves fast with distributed ownership—you build it, you own it. The stack is Python/Flask, React, React Native, and PostgreSQL in a monorepo, with daily deployments.
The Tech Foundations area spans five key domains: (1) Infrastructure enablement (hosting, CI/CD, scalability, multi-cloud), (2) Security and compliance (authentication, encryption, threat protection), (3) Developer productivity (local environments, monorepo tooling, observability), (4) Design and development unification (design systems, accessibility), and (5) AI-assisted engineering (code assistants, agentic development).
In 2026, the team is growing significantly to expand cloud footprint with a revisited multi-cloud strategy, elevate quality across infrastructure and code foundations, evolve AI-augmented development with code assistants as first-class tools, and enhance security tooling and processes.
You'll need 3+ years of full-stack software engineering, experience building internal tools/frameworks/CLIs/libraries that improve developer workflows, strong frontend skills, and ideally contributions to design systems or accessibility. The mindset valued: thinking in terms of developer experience (engineers as customers), collaborative and humble, simplifying complexity with elegant abstractions, excited about AI and automation, fluent in English. High potential and curiosity matter most. Remote work is flexible; in-person collaboration is valued. You must be legally eligible to work in France, Belgium, or Spain.
