Botpress is an enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer support, positioned as the 3rd fastest-growing B2B AI start-up worldwide. The company is displacing legacy platforms like Zendesk at scale across industries and regions. As FP&A Lead, you will own how Botpress plans, forecasts, and reports on the business. Reporting to the VP of Finance and working alongside the Financial Controller, you will build the operating model, run the budget and forecast process, and produce board and investor reporting that guides growth strategy. You will also own the company's dashboards—the single source of truth that every team is measured against—ensuring accountability runs on visible, accessible numbers. This is a builder's role: you are the first dedicated FP&A hire, and the operating model, process, reporting pack, and dashboards are yours to design, build, and run. Capital efficiency is core to Botpress's operations; this role ensures every leader understands what a decision costs before making it and how it performed afterward. Key responsibilities include: - Build and own the driver-based operating model: ARR build (new, expansion, contraction, churn), headcount and compensation planning, opex by department, cash runway, and long-range plan - Own operating dashboards end-to-end: define metrics with department leaders, build and maintain dashboards yourself, and establish them as the accountability standard - Automate and streamline planning and reporting, leveraging AI tools aggressively - Run annual budget and quarterly re-forecast cycles end-to-end - Own monthly management pack and financial sections of board and investor reporting, including SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR/GRR, CAC payback, burn multiple, runway) - Deliver monthly budget-vs-actual and forecast-vs-actual analysis with the Controller - Partner with department leaders on headcount plans, pricing, unit economics, and investment cases - Maintain long-range model and data-room financials; support fundraising, diligence, and investor requests - Define and govern KPI framework with the Controller so external reporting ties to the books This is a senior individual-contributor role, leveled and compensated at the Manager band. At Botpress, "Manager" titles are reserved for people managers; the IC ladder runs Analyst → Senior Analyst → Lead → Principal. REQUIREMENTS: - 5–7 years of progressive FP&A experience, with 3+ years in a B2B SaaS or subscription business - You have built an ARR model and headcount plan yourself (not just maintained one) and run a budget cycle end-to-end at a venture-backed company (Series A–C) - Technical by inclination: comfortable in SQL and a BI tool (Looker, Metabase, or similar); you pull your own data and will happily build dashboards or scripts with AI tools rather than wait for others - Fluent in SaaS metrics and how investors read them; can explain the difference between bookings, ARR, and recognized revenue to non-finance leaders - Sufficient accounting fluency to work productively with a Controller: accruals, deferred revenue, and capitalized costs are not mysteries - Expert in Excel / Google Sheets - Bias toward automation: you prefer building systems to repeating tasks, with a track record to prove it - Self-directed and comfortable partnering with a technical CEO who won't ask finance questions for you - Clear, concise communicator—board-ready commentary, not just numbers - Nice to have: experience with planning tools (Mosaic, Causal, Abacum, Adaptive, or similar); CPA, CFA, or MBA; technical or engineering background
