Murphy is an AI agent platform deployed by banks for debt collection and recovery operations. The company has proven its product with major customers including Santander, Revolut, and BBVA, and is now scaling across the UK enterprise market.
As Founding Strategic Account Executive, you will own and grow Murphy's largest customer relationships across UK banks, telcos, and utilities. This is a full-cycle sales role where you will manage the entire deal lifecycle from initial C-level engagement through POC execution to contract signature and expansion. You will build a portfolio of strategic accounts, develop business cases demonstrating recovery rates and cost savings, and work closely with Solutions Engineering, Product, and founders throughout the sales process and enterprise procurement cycles.
Key responsibilities include: identifying and qualifying enterprise prospects in the UK financial services and utilities sectors; building relationships with C-level executives and internal champions; navigating complex multi-stakeholder buying processes involving legal, security, and procurement teams; converting pilots into long-term contracts; and expanding customer relationships across additional teams, geographies, and use cases within existing accounts.
This is a founding-stage sales role with significant autonomy and impact. You will be expected to create pipeline rather than manage inbound demand, and you will have direct access to the founding team on every major deal. The role offers the opportunity to shape how Murphy scales in the UK market and to build something meaningful from the ground up.
The company offers hybrid flexibility (3 days in London office, 2 days remote) with a stated commitment to flexible working arrangements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven track record closing six-figure ACV (Annual Contract Value) deals
- 6–12+ months sales cycle experience with multiple stakeholders
- Strong experience selling to C-level and senior executives
- Demonstrated ability to multi-thread accounts and build internal champions
- Experience navigating POCs, procurement, legal, security, and enterprise buying processes
- Strong commercial instincts: ability to understand customer business, build ROI cases, and create urgency
- Comfortable creating pipeline in a greenfield market rather than managing inbound demand
- Based in the UK with native-level English proficiency
- Existing network across UK banks, fintechs, telcos, or utilities preferred
