GenMD is unlocking healthcare data at scale by creating privacy-preserving digital twins from patient records. The company transforms health system data into synthetic records that maintain statistical structure without exposing individual patient information, enabling researchers, pharma companies, and AI labs to access data safely and quickly instead of waiting months for IRB approval. You'll be the first full-time product hire, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a 0→1 founding product role with complete ownership of discovery, product strategy, and go-to-market execution. There is no existing product organization or playbook—you'll build it from scratch. In your first year, you'll launch the product and land initial paying customers, define the product roadmap and prioritization, work closely with engineers to ship features, and refine packaging and pricing strategy. You'll be deeply involved in customer discovery, sales calls, and iterating the product based on buyer feedback. The role requires 5+ years of product experience with direct exposure to healthcare, pharma, life sciences, or regulated data products. You should have founding-stage startup experience—ideally as a first PM or early product hire at pre-PMF companies. You must have shipped products from 0→1 or 1→early revenue, including customer discovery, positioning, and iteration. Strong product judgment under ambiguity, comfort with limited resources and unclear specs, and a founder mentality are essential. The team is intentionally small, well-funded with years of runway, and already revenue-generating. The company emerged from Stanford Medicine with access to tens of millions of patient records. You'll work on-site in Palo Alto, five days per week, in a fast-paced environment with high ownership and meaningful equity alongside competitive compensation.
