Broccoli AI builds AI teammates for contractors in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services. The company automates phone answering, appointment booking, customer follow-up, and revenue recovery while integrating with platforms like ServiceTitan. Founded with deep field research (140+ contractor visits), Broccoli has grown to $15M+ ARR in under two years and is backed by Khosla Ventures and Y Combinator.
In this founding Business Development role, you will build and scale Broccoli's relationships across the private equity ecosystem in home services. Home services is one of the most PE-consolidated industries, with hundreds of HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and garage rollups actively seeking operational levers to move EBITDA. You will establish Broccoli as the go-to AI solution for PE firms and their portfolio companies.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the PE relationship engine: identify and cultivate relationships with GPs, operating partners, and value creation teams in home services PE, making Broccoli the first call when AI opportunities arise
- Turn relationships into qualified opportunities: understand each firm's priorities, connect them to Broccoli's value across their portfolios, and convert conversations into meetings and deals
- Partner directly with the CEO on high-stakes PE relationships, owning preparation, narrative development, and follow-through
- Own the value creation narrative: tailor Broccoli's story to each firm's concerns, translating contractor impact into EBITDA, ROI, and transformation stories that resonate with sponsors
- Own events strategy: identify and attend key conferences and summits, host dinners and gatherings that bring the right stakeholders together
You will work in a founder-led, fast-moving environment where you create structure rather than follow process. Travel as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–7 years in consulting, investment banking, or private equity
- Analytical rigor, commercial judgment, and executive credibility to earn trust of GPs, operating partners, and portfolio leaders
- Outgoing, relationship-oriented style with genuine energy for meeting new people; ability to build networks through alumni circles, professional connections, events, and thoughtful outreach
- Exceptional academic and professional track record in rigorous, high-performing environments
- Ability to translate operational data into compelling EBITDA narratives and present confidently to CFOs and PE partners
- Strong executive presence; ability to hold your own at senior levels and build trust quickly
- Sound judgment about which firms, relationships, and markets to prioritize; discernment between high-potential and low-conversion relationships
- Comfort operating without heavy process in a founder-led environment
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Bonus: startup or early-stage company experience building from scratch
