Notion is seeking a Manager of Forward Deployed Engineering to lead a team delivering complex technical solutions to enterprise customers across EMEA. In this role, you will combine people leadership with hands-on technical judgment to guide a team through customer engagements spanning custom code, AI agents, integrations, data migrations, and production-grade automation.
You will own the full lifecycle of customer implementations—from technical discovery and architecture through design, build, launch, and handover. You'll act as a trusted advisor to customer engineering, IT, security, and business leaders, helping them make informed decisions and deepen their use of Notion as an operating layer for their business.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing Forward Deployed Engineers, establishing high-performance team standards, reviewing technical designs and implementation plans, identifying delivery risks early, and stepping in directly when engagements require senior technical leadership. You'll also partner with Sales, Services, Product, and CX teams on qualification, feasibility, scoping, and delivery planning for strategic opportunities.
The team's work spans custom code, production-grade agents and AI workflows using MCP and Agent APIs, integrations, data pipelines, enterprise migrations, and complex challenges involving scale, permissions, and governance. You'll help establish how Services delivers complex technical implementations across EMEA, including building reusable technical assets and turning customer deployment lessons into product improvements.
You'll balance customer priorities, team capacity, and technical complexity to make sound staffing and sequencing decisions. You'll also help define and scale the operating model for Forward Deployed Engineering, including hiring, onboarding, delivery methodologies, quality reviews, and engineering best practices.
