Ent is an intent-aware workspace security platform protecting human and AI-driven work. Founded by the co-founders of RiskIQ (acquired by Microsoft) and the team behind Microsoft Security Copilot, the company is in production with Global 2000 customers across hospitality, financial services, and defense, backed by top-tier VCs including Sequoia and In-Q-Tel.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will build and lead a core function at the intersection of customer delivery, product, and security research. This is a ground-up opportunity to define how modern security products are adopted and scaled in real-world customer environments.
Key responsibilities include:
**Build the Function**: Define deployment, validation, and scaling processes for Ent within customer environments. Bootstrap processes, metrics, documentation, and training for the FDE team. Operate across product, customer, and security domains.
**Work Directly with Customers**: Embed with design partners and early customers to lead initial deployments across Insider Risk, DLP, Security Assertion Token (SAT), AV/EDR, and Security for AI modules. Drive fast time-to-value through hands-on configuration, iteration, and problem-solving.
**Shape the Product**: Act as "internal customer zero" for product and engineering teams. Identify gaps in usability, performance, and real-world applicability. Translate customer workflows into durable deployment patterns and provide actionable feedback that influences roadmap prioritization.
**Bridge Security Research**: Work closely with research teams to validate detection and prevention approaches. Bring real-world user behavior and threat patterns into the system to help evolve intent-aware models.
**Scale Programs**: Turn bespoke deployments into repeatable programs. Build playbooks, templates, and frameworks that enable long-term ownership by customer teams and service providers.
You should have experience in forward deployed engineering, customer experience engineering (CXE), solutions engineering, or similar roles in cybersecurity or infrastructure. A strong technical foundation in endpoint, systems, or security is essential. You demonstrate product intuition, a builder mindset, and the ability to operate in ambiguous, high-impact environments while moving fluidly between technical depth, customer engagement, and strategic thinking.
