Flow is a complex systems engineering platform used by next-generation teams building the future of space, defense, automotive, aviation, and robotics. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital and founded by experienced entrepreneurs. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of sales, engineering, and customer success. You'll be one of Flow's first forward deployed engineers, responsible for understanding how next-gen hardware teams build, guiding deployments, and supporting adoption to ensure customers achieve meaningful outcomes. Key responsibilities include: - Owning the technical win by taking ownership of valuable parts of the sales process, including custom demos, trials, and POC execution—critical to winning new business for Flow. - Understanding and mapping customer workflows by deeply learning their current processes, pain points, and priorities, then showcasing tailored solutions that proactively address those needs. - Running technical enablement sessions through workshops, training, and joint solutions sessions that demonstrate how Flow can transform the customer's development process. - Shaping the product roadmap by acting as the link between customers and the engineering team, developing innovative solutions and building the future roadmap based on field insights. - Building the GTM foundation by helping define Flow's activation methodology for strategic customers, designing technical GTM playbooks, implementation guides, and training materials for future hires. This role is ideal for someone who started their career in hardware engineering and discovered a passion for working directly with customers to solve their problems. You'll enable hardware companies to reinvent how they work. Requirements: - Strong software engineering fundamentals, including designing, testing, and operating services at scale in cloud environments. - Ability to turn complex ideas into simple, engaging messages for both engineers and executives. - Builder mentality and desire to help define a world-class technical GTM motion from the ground up. Nice to have: - 3+ years in hardware, mechanical, or systems engineering roles with knowledge of how complex machines are developed. - Sales experience managing customer relationships in pre-sales or post-sales engagements; closing experience is a bonus. - Industry experience in space, energy, robotics, or advanced manufacturing. - Experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Confluence, PLM, MBSE, or legacy requirements tools.
