Comfy is an AI creation engine for visual professionals, offering the most powerful workflow engine for visual AI. The company has grown from an open-source project in 2023 to 4 million users, 60,000+ community-built nodes, and 150,000+ daily downloads. Used by artists, filmmakers, game studios, and major companies including OpenAI, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Ubisoft, EA, and Tencent. Recently raised $30M at a $500M valuation.
The Forward Deployed Creative Technologist sits at the front line of customer engagement. You'll work directly with the Founding Account Executive and GTM team to demonstrate Comfy's capabilities to Fortune 500 brands, major studios, and fast-growing agencies.
Key responsibilities include: building custom workflows, demo nodes, and proof-of-concept pipelines that close deals; running technical discovery on sales calls to translate customer problems into Comfy solutions in real time; owning the implementation handoff from close through production deployment; creating content (demo videos, workflow recipes, tutorials, community posts) that serves both sales enablement and developer relations; and serving as the bridge between customers and engineering/design teams to inform product roadmap decisions.
You should have serious hands-on experience with ComfyUI—not casual usage, but shipped workflows you're proud of. You need creative range across image and video, Python proficiency to build custom nodes and debug workflows, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior creative directors, ML engineers, and procurement stakeholders. You're a fast mover who prefers showing over telling, comfortable under pressure, and able to read the deal and choose what to build next without constant direction.
Bonus qualifications include experience at creative agencies or studios (MediaMonks, R/GA, Active Theory), a public portfolio or GitHub presence around AI-generated work, open-source contributions to ComfyUI, or prior B2B SaaS exposure.
This is not a fit if you're seeking a traditional sales engineer role, want to be a pure builder without customer interaction, need detailed direction on what to build, or struggle with direct feedback in a fast-paced environment.
Location is San Francisco in-office with occasional travel (a few times per year) for on-site deployment at strategic enterprise accounts.
