Translucent is an agentic AI platform built exclusively for healthcare finance, founded in 2024 and backed by GV, NEA, FPV, and Virtue. The company is deployed by healthcare organizations managing over $5 billion in combined revenue, solving a critical problem: healthcare finance teams spend more time finding and cleaning data than using it to make decisions. As a Forward Deployed Analytics Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of customers' financial and clinical data and Translucent's agentic AI systems. You'll work within the managed data pipeline to reverse-engineer customer-specific business rules, build transformations that map raw customer data into a unified ontology and semantic layer, and maintain the highest standards for data correctness. Key responsibilities include: - Understanding customer requirements, processes, workflows, and business logic through direct engagement - Identifying required data and reviewing customer source-of-truth financial and clinical data models, including on-site visits when needed - Reverse-engineering and codifying customer-specific business rules (payer contracts, chart-of-accounts structures, etc.) - Building and validating SQL transformations within the managed data pipeline that map customer data into Translucent's unified ontology - Owning testing and validation rigor for all transformations—you are the final gatekeeper on data correctness - Partnering with the data platforming team on infrastructure constraints and expansion opportunities - Collaborating with insights and product engineering teams to expand the data ontology as customer needs evolve You must have deep healthcare data domain experience from health systems, healthcare consulting, or health tech, with hands-on exposure to claims, EHR, or financial/revenue cycle data. Strong SQL fluency is essential (BigQuery experience is a plus). You need experience with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, BigQuery) and dbt-style transformation tooling (the company uses SQLMesh). Solid data modeling instincts, comfort with git-native PR-driven workflows, and basic Python are required. The role requires 3–5+ years of relevant industry experience. Nice-to-haves include Epic Cogito/Clarity certifications, experience with PHI/data-governance constraints, healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12), forward-deployed or solutions engineering experience, and GCP BigQuery SQL expertise. Location: Union Square, New York City, in-office 4 days per week.
