AIRO Group is seeking a Flight Operations Manager / Flight Test Pilot to lead and execute the company's flight testing program for advanced avionics systems. This role combines hands-on flight operations with leadership responsibility for AIRO's flight test aircraft and operations program. You will serve as the primary flight test pilot, actively flying AIRO's aircraft to evaluate and validate in-development avionics systems in real-world conditions. You will develop FAA-compliant flight test plans, conduct evaluation missions, generate flight test reports, and provide critical pilot feedback to engineering teams on usability, safety, and human factors. This feedback directly shapes the next generation of avionics products. Beyond piloting, you will oversee aircraft maintenance, airworthiness, and operational readiness. You will provide direction and oversight of aircraft maintenance and modifications, working with internal staff or external AMTs. You are responsible for ensuring all flight operations meet the highest safety standards. You will collaborate closely with engineering, software, and certification teams, interfacing with the FAA on flight operations, experimental airworthiness certificates, flight testing protocols, and company flight test reports. This is a highly collaborative role working at the intersection of flight operations, product development, and regulatory compliance. AIRO's platform integrates aircraft, autonomy, avionics, and mission services for environments where failure is not an option—supporting contested logistics, tactical and long-range ISTAR, and precision operations. REQUIREMENTS: - Active Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating and Multi-Engine Rating (required) - CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) preferred - Correctable vision and hearing - Flight test experience and/or avionics knowledge strongly preferred - Experience with FAA certification processes preferred
