Revolut is seeking a FinCrime Escalations Officer to join its Financial Crime Operations team, which plays a critical role in keeping customers and their money safe. This is a second-line compliance role focused on suspicious activity reporting and regulatory compliance.
In this position, you will serve as the escalation point for suspicious activity cases, ensuring accurate and timely Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) are submitted in accordance with local regulatory requirements. You'll review cases escalated from the first line of defense, conduct thorough assessments, and make informed decisions on whether to escalate further or resolve. Key responsibilities include responding to regulatory inquiries from local authorities, managing queries requiring second-line review, and collaborating with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) on significant cases.
You'll also monitor and detect rare or emerging patterns in suspicious activity, report trends to management, and work within expected resolution timeframes. The role involves collaborating on training initiatives and implementing new processes to strengthen the organization's anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance posture.
Required qualifications include prior experience as a compliance or FinCrime officer in a major financial institution, with demonstrated expertise in FinCrime operations at the escalation level. You must have deep knowledge of AML and sanctions regulations, proficiency with internal and external investigation systems and databases, and strong analytical skills to identify key issues and drive resolutions. The ability to review policies, advise on necessary changes, and present clear risk mitigation proposals to management is essential. Understanding of payment systems, fintech markets, and mobile applications is required. Fluency in English is mandatory; additional language skills are a plus.
