Revolut is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Manager to join its second line of defence and oversee financial crime activity across the organization. This role is critical to ensuring Revolut's products and operations meet legal and regulatory requirements while delivering value to its 75+ million customers.
Key responsibilities include defining and documenting the local financial crime and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) programme; partnering with senior managers to identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory compliance risks; and establishing customer identification and verification standards to meet AML compliance requirements. You will assist with suspicious activity reporting, including internal coordination and external submissions to regulators and law enforcement bodies.
The role involves communicating with staff to promote understanding of financial crime responsibilities and supporting effective training on Revolut policies and procedures. You'll escalate suspicious activity through internal reporting channels and act as a liaison with local Romanian authorities and the local Financial Intelligence Unit. Additionally, you'll support business teams in launching new features by assessing AML and regulatory compliance requirements, and collaborate with internal compliance teams to identify risks and provide recommendations.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in a relevant compliance or financial crime role, with in-depth knowledge of the Romanian and EU regulatory environment and key financial crime regimes. You should have strong knowledge of financial services regulation, fraud detection methodologies, and emerging practices in financial crime and money laundering typologies. Problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential for analysing complex information and driving resolutions. Fluency in both English and Romanian is required.
