Salary: EUR 40,400 - 45,450 / annual
Tide is a fintech platform serving over 2 million SMEs globally with business banking and administrative solutions (invoicing, accounting). The company operates across the UK, India, Germany, France, and expanding EU markets, with offices in London, Sofia, Berlin, Paris, and other tech hubs.
You will lead financial crime investigations and suspicious activity reporting (SAR/STR) for Tide's European operations. As the first line of defence (1LOD) control owner, you'll oversee transaction monitoring, fraud controls, sanctions screening, and regulatory compliance across multiple EU jurisdictions (Germany, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy).
Key responsibilities:
- Own and oversee suspicious activity reporting processes and quality assurance for EU markets
- Act as first line control owner for ongoing monitoring, including transaction monitoring, fraud controls, and sanctions screening
- Ensure processes and controls meet reporting obligations and scale across European markets
- Approve TPSA (Third Party Service Arrangement) process and procedure documentation
- Monitor control effectiveness through management information review, exception tracking, and assurance outputs
- Represent first line operations in regulatory interactions with BaFin, ACPR, CSSF, Bank of Spain, Bank of Italy
- Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Authorised Management with timely updates on control performance and incidents
- Serve as primary liaison between first line operations and Compliance (2LOD)
- Escalate material control weaknesses and emerging financial crime risks
- Provide periodic reporting to senior leadership on control status and emerging risks
- Oversee remediation of audit, compliance monitoring, and risk and control assessment actions
Required experience:
- Proven track record in financial crime, fraud, or AML control management within regulated financial services
- Strong understanding of first vs second line of defence responsibilities and governance boundaries
- Deep technical knowledge of transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and SAR frameworks
- Familiarity with EU and national AML/CFT and fraud prevention regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; ability to interpret management information and assurance outcomes
- Excellent written communication for regulatory and senior management materials
- Desirable: multi-jurisdictional control ownership experience, knowledge of goAML and regional FIU reporting systems
