Adyen is a leading fintech platform providing payments, data, and financial products for major clients including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is highly regulated and committed to building a sustainable, ethical business.
As a Financial Crime Analyst, you will join the Financial Crime team to identify, investigate, and prevent money laundering, terror financing, and fraudulent activities across Adyen's acquiring and embedded financial services. You will work closely with Compliance, Risk, Product, and Merchant Operations teams to maintain platform integrity and create a secure environment for users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and investigate high-volume alerts across multiple risk channels in real-time, focusing on fraud patterns, money laundering red flags, and PEP/sanctions screening matches while meeting daily productivity (KPIs) and quality (QA) targets
- Document analytical steps and findings in internal case management tools, building robust audit trails
- Assist in developing and optimizing processes, systems, and tools by suggesting improvements and enhancements
- Stay current with financial crime trends, techniques, and technologies to enhance detection and prevention methods
- Identify and escalate suspicious activity or sophisticated alerts to Senior Analysts or Second Line Compliance teams according to established workflows
Requirements:
- 1–4+ years of experience in AML, Fraud, or Screening at a financial institution or fintech company
- Strong working knowledge of fraud typologies, transaction monitoring methods, and KYC/CDD screening frameworks
- Excellent analytical and writing skills; ability to synthesize complex transactional flows into logical, professional investigative narratives
- Willingness to make difficult decisions and learn from experiences; skilled at using data to drive decisions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong cross-team communication and cultural awareness
- Willing to work occasional weekend shifts (1 day per weekend, non-sequential)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
