Hive Health is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the company's financial control and finance operations functions. This is a people-management role overseeing General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial compliance teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records, maintaining effective internal controls, managing cash flow, and ensuring timely compliance with financial, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
**Financial Controls & Compliance**: Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across accounting, payables, receivables, and finance operations. Identify control gaps and operational risks, driving corrective actions with relevant teams.
**Financial Reporting**: Oversee General Accounting and month-end/year-end close processes. Review general ledger balances, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Ensure timely preparation of reliable financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
**A/P, A/R & Financial Operations**: Oversee A/P and A/R operations, ensuring accurate and timely payments, billing, collections, and reconciliations. Develop and enhance reporting and monitoring tools. Establish operating metrics, aging reports, and performance indicators. Drive process and system improvements focused on automation, efficiency, and reduced manual work. Collaborate with Product, Data, and Healthcare Operations teams to incorporate financial requirements into new systems and workflows.
**Audit, Tax & Regulatory Compliance**: Lead Finance's preparation for internal and external audits. Oversee tax compliance and coordinate required filings. Ensure compliance with BIR, Insurance Commission, SEC, and other regulatory bodies. Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisers, and regulators.
**Financial Operations Leadership**: Provide leadership across General Accounting, A/P, A/R, and financial compliance. Generate and review comprehensive financial and operational reports for management decision-making. Identify opportunities to improve the finance operating model, controls, workflows, and technology use.
**People Leadership**: Lead and develop General Accounting, A/P, and A/R teams through clear expectations, coaching, and performance management. Establish clear accountabilities and measurable outcomes. Build team capability and succession readiness while fostering ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to strengthen financial discipline and ensure financial requirements are appropriately incorporated into company processes and systems. The role operates in a fast-growing healthcare environment where processes, systems, and organizational structures continue to evolve.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, audit, or finance operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership or people management role
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting, internal controls, A/P, A/R, cash management, and Philippine tax and regulatory requirements
- Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes, external audits, and financial compliance requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing and improving financial operations, reporting, controls, and workflows
- Experience with accounting or ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and process automation; experience with internally developed operational systems is an advantage
- Experience in a regulated industry, healthcare, insurance/HMO, fintech, or high-growth company is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to financial accuracy and data integrity
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, establish accountability, and drive process improvements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work effectively with senior leadership, external auditors, regulators, and cross-functional teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing environment where processes, systems, and organizational structures continue to evolve
- Must be willing to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig as required by the company's hybrid setup
