Constantinople is building an AI-native banking platform that delivers fully-managed software and operational infrastructure for banks. The platform consolidates customer experience, product, data, operations, compliance, and infrastructure into a single system, replacing manual processes with AI at scale.
As Financial Controller, you will own all aspects of the company's financial operations and serve as a strategic financial leader reporting to senior management and the Board.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee preparation of accurate, timely financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow). Conduct in-depth variance analysis against budget and forecast to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Present findings to senior management and the Board.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting and develop rolling financial forecasts (monthly, quarterly) in collaboration with departments. Monitor actual performance against budget, explain variances, and develop cash flow management strategies.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and prevent fraud. Ensure compliance with Australian statutory law, financial regulations, and tax requirements (BAS, FBT, company tax). Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Strategic Financial Management: Contribute to strategic planning with financial insights and recommendations. Identify business efficiencies, operational improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in Australia
- 8+ years progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with significant time in management or leadership capacity
- Strong background in financial management, auditing, or relevant accounting positions
- Experience in growth-stage businesses highly beneficial
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex financial information to financial and non-financial stakeholders
