Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.
The Finance & Strategy team is seeking a technically skilled engineer to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Finance's data foundation and AI systems. This role serves as the technical bridge between Finance leadership, BizTech, PeopleOps, Accounting, and data engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and owning the data foundation and AI roadmap for Finance & Strategy, designing the future state of Samsara's financial data and systems landscape while maintaining the existing Workday Adaptive Planning instance through transition
- Designing, building, and maintaining pipelines and integrations connecting financial systems (Databricks, NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive, Salesforce) to ensure seamless data flow, scalability, and reliability
- Building agentic-first close processes and extending AI-powered tools and automations across core finance processes including forecasting, scenario planning, variance analysis, headcount planning, and management reporting
- Leading cross-functional alignment across Finance, BizTech, PeopleOps, and Accounting on system workstreams, resolving competing priorities and driving shared decisions
- Evaluating and implementing emerging technologies in AI, automation, and data infrastructure to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency
- Formalizing best practices in data modeling and infrastructure, enabling end users through documentation, training, and technical support to drive adoption
- Building with governance in mind, establishing data quality standards and security protocols
You'll transform fragmented financial data from multiple sources into a modern Databricks foundation that powers production-grade, decision-ready systems.
