Ambiq is a semiconductor company on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere by powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power chip solutions. Built on proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, the company has shipped over 300 million units since 2010 to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications. The company operates across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore.
This is a Strategic Finance Manager role reporting to leadership, responsible for shaping the financial strategy behind Ambiq's product roadmap and manufacturing operations. You will serve as the financial translator between the chip business and executive leadership, owning product margin and revenue forecasting end-to-end while building business cases for R&D investment decisions. Your analysis will directly influence company profitability through gross margin optimization and R&D investment prioritization.
Key responsibilities include: developing annual and long-range revenue and margin plans in partnership with leadership; owning the product margin forecast and supporting Marketing and Sales in revenue optimization; proactively identifying and resolving risks to revenue and margin projections; partnering with Accounting to reconcile actual-to-forecast costs and develop cost metrics; leading the monthly budget-to-actual process and owning the Quarterly Revised Forecast; partnering with Manufacturing and Operations to develop and prioritize business metrics, inventory management, product cost, and ROI analyses; building financial models and business cases for R&D investment decisions including ROI, payback period, and sensitivity analysis; becoming a trusted resource across the organization with deep expertise in products, customers, sales pipeline, and cost structure; and serving as the financial partner to Taiwan-based operations counterparts with periodic travel and cross-timezone collaboration.
This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to executive leadership and investor relations. You will have clear runway to grow into broader FP&A leadership. The role is on-site 5 days per week in NW Austin, with expected travel to Taiwan to work with operations counterparts.
