Zapier is seeking a Finance Manager to serve as the dedicated financial partner for the marketing organization. This role owns the full financial picture for a strategically important spend area, including headcount planning, budget management, and channel investment allocation. You will report to the Head of GTM Finance and work closely with marketing leadership, Sales FP&A, and Corporate FP&A to establish clear financial interlocks between marketing, sales, and company-level financials.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own marketing FP&A end-to-end: headcount planning, budget building, and actuals tracking to provide marketing leadership with a clear, current view of performance against plan
- Conduct channel allocation analysis (demand generation vs. brand) and drive ROI-by-channel reporting
- Support sales pipeline forecasting based on spend as part of GTM target-setting and ARR modeling, flagging pipeline coverage risks early
- Serve as an embedded business partner to marketing leadership, providing real-time strategic financial guidance rather than monthly reporting
- Track purchase orders and vendor commitments against budget, proactively flagging overspend risks
- Analyze connections between marketing spend, pipeline generation, and closed-won revenue through cross-functional collaboration with Sales and RevOps
- Partner with the Data team to establish and govern pipeline reporting definitions (leads, MQLs, opportunities) for end-to-end funnel consistency
- Use AI tools to automate recurring finance processes and build skills/agents for month-end close and re-forecasting cycles
Requirements:
- Strong investment banking background with GTM exposure, OR 8+ years of marketing FP&A or GTM finance experience, with solid understanding of sales pipeline conversion to closed-won revenue
- Ability to own budgets end-to-end (headcount, spend actuals, purchase orders) and communicate variance clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong grasp of channel-level marketing economics (pipeline generation vs. brand), cost per pipe, and ability to connect spend to downstream pipeline and revenue outcomes
- Comfort with ambiguity; ability to structure loosely-defined problems independently
- Good judgment with bias toward proactively surfacing issues and opportunities
- Active use of AI tools with judgment about when to go deep manually vs. leverage automation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex analysis into clear executive takeaways
- Preferred: experience with Google Sheets, data warehouses (Databricks or Snowflake), NetSuite, Zip, and HubSpot
