Salary: USD 100,000 - 125,000 / annual
Waabi, founded by AI researcher Raquel Urtasun, is a leader in Physical AI focused on autonomous transportation, including commercial autonomous trucks and robotaxis. The company is backed by major players in AI, automotive, logistics, and deep tech, with offices in Toronto, San Francisco, Dallas, and Pittsburgh.
You will join as an early member of the FP&A team, serving as a force multiplier for the finance organization. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to the growth of a frontier AI company and the opportunity to help architect long-term financial foundations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish foundational FP&A frameworks for a scaling organization, including leadership reporting, monthly budget vs. actuals analysis, and cross-functional financial discipline
- Manage the full-year budget and forecast cycle, supporting budget preparation, annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial plans; collaborate with leadership to monitor and adjust budgets to protect cash flow
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports and board materials
- Create dashboards to monitor daily/monthly financial performance against goals, identifying trends, variances, and risks
- Establish processes and methodologies to track and report on KPIs
- Identify, lead, and execute opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize financial systems and reporting processes
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models that underpin strategic and commercial initiatives
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, including evaluation of investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or FP&A/Strategic Finance roles at high-growth technology companies
- Advanced financial modeling skills with focus on accuracy and scalability; pride in work quality and ability to translate complex data into reliable decision-making tools
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity; highly organized, capable of managing multiple workstreams, and proactive in moving projects to completion with minimal oversight
- Ability to distill vast amounts of data into clear, concise, and polished insights for executive audiences
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management, analysis, tools, and reporting methodologies; experience selecting and/or implementing FP&A software tools
- Natural inclination to build frameworks from scratch and desire to make financial processes more efficient as the organization grows
