Base Power is rebuilding America's electricity grid through distributed battery networks. This role owns the finance data platform end-to-end, serving as the single source of truth for all financial data across the company.
You will design and build a finance data warehouse that consolidates data from NetSuite (general ledger), asset registers, approved budgets, actuals, and forecasts into one governed repository. On top of this warehouse, you'll construct a GL reporting cube with business-friendly dimensions, account hierarchies, and pre-calculated measures that enable finance teams to drill from consolidated results to transaction detail.
Key responsibilities include: building and maintaining the finance data warehouse with reliable pipelines that replicate ERP data; designing the GL reporting cube with proper dimensional modeling; implementing correctness as a core feature through tested logic, reconciliation checks, and GL tie-outs; partnering with accounting to establish the dimensional backbone (entity, department, account, absorption methodology); serving consolidation and budget-vs-actuals analysis with variance drilldown; building interfaces across Excel, BI tools, and AI agents; and scaling the platform as finance grows to support forecast cubes, asset management reporting, and tax equity fund reporting.
You'll bring 3-7 years of data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI development experience, with at least one production financial reporting platform (warehouse plus cube or semantic layer) built and operated. You need expert SQL and dimensional modeling skills, working knowledge of accounting (chart of accounts, debits/credits, close calendars), an auditor's instinct for correctness and reconciliation, and the ability to communicate clearly with finance stakeholders. You should be comfortable treating AI agents as first-class data consumers and have founding-hire ownership mentality—scoping v1 yourself, shipping it, and growing the function as the company scales.

The finance team is central to the company's mission, responsible for visibility on performance, capital allocation, analytics, controls, and investor relations. You'll work in-person in Austin as part of a team committed to the mission of rebuilding the grid.
