Boston Scientific seeks a Field Scientific Affairs Manager to lead scientific strategy and KOL engagement within the Rhythm Solutions division, focusing on cardiac electrophysiology and left atrial appendage closure. This remote role bridges clinical science and commercial execution, requiring deep expertise in cardiovascular medicine and the ability to synthesize complex clinical data for healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: (1) Clinical Leadership – conduct non-promotional scientific exchanges with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals on clinical outcomes, product differentiation, and unmet needs; independently review and interpret clinical trial and real-world data; stay current on cardiac electrophysiology literature and emerging trends; communicate complex scientific information clearly to ensure understanding of product benefits. (2) Stakeholder Engagement – develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, investigators, and scientific experts across electrophysiology and interventional cardiology; apply objective scientific criteria to identify and prioritize physicians for company-sponsored activities; engage in thoughtful scientific dialogue that surfaces unmet clinical needs; partner cross-functionally with Clinical, Marketing, R&D, Medical Education, and Compliance teams to develop compliant engagement strategies; gather and synthesize insights to influence clinical and business decisions. (3) Evidence Generation – facilitate investigator-sponsored study submissions through approval committees; support site identification and enrollment for Boston Scientific-sponsored trials; identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for evidence generation and dissemination; align evidence planning and clinical messaging strategies.
Required: minimum 5 years in medical device industry (clinical, scientific communications, Medical Affairs, medical education, R&D, or field clinical engineering preferred) OR 5+ years clinical practice in relevant specialty (electrophysiology, structural heart, cardiovascular medicine); demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to travel extensively (up to 75% domestic travel with overnight stays); access to major airport required.
Preferred: advanced degree (DNP, PA, PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA, MSc, MS, MHA, or MASc); clinical and scientific background in cardiology.
