Datadog is seeking a Field CTO for Japan to lead the company's technical strategy and market presence in the region. This newly created role sits within the Product Solutions Architecture (PSA) organization and serves as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers and prospects, bridging customer business objectives with Datadog's product strategy. Key responsibilities include: - Executive Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to C-level executives (CIO, CTO, CEO, CISO) on observability adoption, investment decisions, and operational implementation. - Go-To-Market Leadership: Identify industry trends and opportunities through customer engagement, contribute to top-of-funnel creation, and collaborate with Product and GTM teams to develop industry-specific solutions. - Thought Leadership: Establish industry leadership in observability and security, highlighting best practices, advanced solutions, and Datadog's approach to visibility and management at scale. - Sales Advisory: Provide trusted guidance on ROI, value realization, and whitespace analysis to sales leaders and customer executives; support deal and implementation strategies for key accounts. - Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with PSA, Sales, Sales Engineering, and Marketing to deliver high-quality technical support to diverse audiences from practitioners to economic decision-makers. - Executive Presentations: Lead architecture and design engagements for strategic customers; participate in Executive Briefing Center sessions on overall architecture, observability best practices, and industry trends. - Hiring Support: Lead recruitment efforts for PSA and Field CTO teams. The role requires 15+ years of enterprise or large-scale application architecture experience, deep knowledge of observability, cloud, and digital transformation in the Japanese market, strategic thinking ability, proven stakeholder management with VP+ and C-level executives, strong presentation skills, excellent oral and written communication in Japanese and English, and willingness to travel up to 50% (by car, train, or plane). Engineering or related bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
