1Password is seeking a Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) for North America East to serve as the most senior customer-facing technical advisor within the Solutions Engineering organization. This role bridges technical architecture and business outcomes, influencing enterprise technology leaders and accelerating adoption of 1Password's identity and access management platform.
You will partner with executive buyers, enterprise architects, developers, and security practitioners to solve complex identity and access challenges. Key responsibilities include engaging in strategic customer opportunities, representing 1Password at executive briefings and industry events, serving as a trusted advisor to Product, Engineering, and GTM leadership, and focusing efforts where technical leadership materially influences customer outcomes.
Beyond customer engagement, you'll scale the technical capabilities of the Solutions Engineering organization by transforming customer insights into repeatable playbooks, mentoring senior Solutions Engineers, influencing product direction, and establishing technical strategies for enterprise customer engagement globally.
The role emphasizes AI integration across GTM functions, expecting team members to leverage AI daily for smarter work and faster execution. You'll help shape how 1Password engages with the world's largest organizations—from Fortune 100 leaders to innovative AI companies—around identity security, privileged access, cloud security, developer platforms, and AI security.
Success within 12-18 months includes influencing strategic customer outcomes, building partnerships with Product/Engineering/GTM leadership, creating repeatable technical plays and reference architectures, elevating field technical capabilities through mentorship, and expanding 1Password's influence in the identity security community through speaking and advisory boards.
The position requires 12+ years in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, consulting, solutions engineering, or technical leadership; demonstrated success influencing Fortune 500 executives; deep technical expertise in identity, access management, and related domains; exceptional executive communication skills; and willingness to travel up to 50%.
