MinIO is seeking a Field CTO to serve as a premier technical ambassador bridging engineering innovation with strategic enterprise customer needs. This is a highly technical, customer-facing role requiring deep expertise in modern AI architectures and data systems.
You will engage in peer-to-peer conversations with Fortune 500 C-suite executives (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) and lead architectural discussions with principal engineers. Your responsibilities include acting as a trusted technical advisor on enterprise data infrastructure, designing and validating complex large-scale architectures for AI/ML and analytics workloads, and guiding customers in integrating MinIO into their AI pipelines and modern data lakehouse ecosystems.
Key responsibilities:
- Executive Advisory & Evangelism: Articulate strategic value of high-performance object storage in AI readiness and data democratization to C-level executives
- Architectural Leadership: Design and validate enterprise-scale architectures, guide integration of MinIO into AI/ML pipelines and data lakehouse ecosystems
- Industry Thought Leadership: Represent MinIO at major conferences, webinars, and meetups; author technical whitepapers and reference architectures on object storage, generative AI, and modern analytics
- Pre-Sales & Post-Sales Support: Partner with enterprise sales and customer success teams on high-stakes deals, unblock technical objections, provide strategic guidance during PoCs and large deployments
- Product Strategy: Serve as voice of customer to product and engineering teams, distill market trends and customer pain points into actionable product requirements
Required qualifications include 10+ years in technical leadership roles (Enterprise Architect, Chief Architect, VP Engineering, or previous Field CTO) with demonstrated customer-facing and evangelist experience presenting to technical and C-level audiences.
Mandatory technical expertise: Deep architectural understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG workflows, and vector databases; strong knowledge of AI/ML data pipelines and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Ray, Hugging Face); expertise in open table formats (Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, Hudi) and modern query engines (Trino, Spark, Flink); strong command of Kubernetes, containerization, cloud-native orchestration, AWS S3 API, and distributed systems design.
