ONI is seeking a Field Applications Scientist to provide field-based scientific and applications support across China and designated Rest of World markets. The role bridges technical expertise with commercial opportunity development, enabling ONI's distributor partners to win deals and effectively position ONI's Nanoimager—a revolutionary microscopy platform for cellular and molecular-level studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support distributor-led customer meetings and conduct technical discovery sessions
- Deliver demonstrations, evaluations, workshops, and scientific presentations to prospective customers
- Train and enable distributor applications teams to position and support ONI workflows effectively
- Ensure technical claims, application positioning, and customer expectations remain accurate and aligned
- Support opportunity progression through technical evaluation and competitive differentiation
- Identify scientific objections, technical risks, and requirements that could impact deal progression
- Collaborate with Sales and partners to develop technical close plans for priority opportunities
- Support strategic conferences, workshops, and market-development activities
- Capture and report market, application, competitive, and customer feedback to ONI teams
The ideal candidate will have an advanced scientific degree or equivalent applications experience, with expertise in microscopy or relevant life-science workflows. Customer-facing field applications experience is strongly preferred. Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required. You must be able to train and influence distributor technical teams and be prepared to travel extensively within China and regionally.
