Salary: USD 175,000 - 225,000 / annual
BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation through sustainable aircraft innovation. This Export Compliance Leader role reports to the Chief Legal Officer and owns the enterprise export and regulatory compliance strategy across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive export compliance programs covering EAR (Export Administration Regulations) and ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
- Managing US Government contract compliance and security compliance requirements
- Conducting self-assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps and risks
- Creating and delivering training programs on regulatory requirements to cross-functional teams
- Drafting and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and standard work documentation
- Monitoring evolving regulatory landscapes and interpreting implications for the business
- Project managing enterprise compliance obligations with cross-functional coordination
- Investigating compliance escapes and preparing comprehensive analyses with remediation recommendations
- Maintaining meticulous records to support all compliance requirements
- Assisting with export license applications and related documentation
- Providing quarterly updates and strategic recommendations to leadership
The ideal candidate brings aerospace compliance experience, working knowledge of US export regulations, and familiarity with US Government contracting. Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills are essential. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, government portals, and digital compliance tools is required. US citizenship is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include security clearance eligibility, experience as an Empowered Official, knowledge of Canadian Controlled Goods Program, and a JD or relevant advanced degree. In-person or hybrid work at the South Burlington, VT office is strongly preferred.
