Join Novartis Digital Finance as an Expert Data Scientist to build innovative analytics and AI solutions that transform planning, forecasting, performance management, and decision-making across a global organization. You will work at the intersection of Finance, data science, machine learning, and emerging AI technologies, turning complex data into meaningful insights and developing scalable solutions with measurable business impact.
Key responsibilities include designing and deploying data science and AI solutions that enhance finance planning and decision-making; developing predictive, prescriptive, and machine learning models that generate actionable business insights; transforming complex business challenges into scalable analytics products, models, dashboards, and recommendations; and collaborating with Finance stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities and drive solution adoption.
You will prepare, validate, and optimize enterprise datasets to support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives; implement model monitoring, governance, and Responsible AI practices across solution lifecycles; and contribute to Generative AI, large language model, retrieval-augmented generation, and Agentic AI initiatives.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field; 2–5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or applied AI; proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, model development, and scalable solution delivery; strong knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, forecasting, machine learning, and model evaluation techniques; experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions with measurable impact; and ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable qualifications include experience applying data science, forecasting, planning, or performance analytics within Finance or similar business functions, and exposure to Generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, or Agentic AI frameworks. This is a hybrid role based in Barcelona, Spain. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support. Two positions are available.
