Lindblad Expeditions, a pioneer in expedition travel since 1966, is seeking a Reservations Manager to lead and coach the Expedition Specialists team. This role is central to the company's mission, as the reservations team serves as the off-ship face of Lindblad-National Geographic, often developing relationships with guests booking expeditions 9–24 months in advance.
The Reservations Manager will provide daily guidance, support, training, and motivation to Expedition Specialists to help them exceed sales goals and deliver exceptional service. You'll work cross-functionally with Revenue Management, Inventory, Operations, and Sales & Marketing teams to uphold the company's "Whatever It Takes" brand promise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing the reservations team, including administering production-based bonus programs and leading coaching initiatives
- Conducting regular one-on-one meetings with Expedition Specialists to foster a culture of training and development
- Reviewing reservations for quality assurance and accuracy
- Serving as the first point of escalation for guest and travel advisor issues
- Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members
- Managing day-to-day operations, time and attendance, timecards, and time-off requests
- Workforce planning and prioritizing team and individual goals to achieve business objectives
- Supporting special projects and departmental responsibilities as needed
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about travel. You'll need strong time management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. This position requires occasional work outside normal business hours as needed.
The role is based in either the New York or Seattle office, with a hybrid schedule: Tuesday–Thursday in-office, with the option to work remotely Monday and Friday. Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of their designated office.
Requirements:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a sales or call center environment (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Salesforce and Seaware experience required
- Excellent problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work occasionally outside normal business hours as required
