Recursion Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage TechBio company, is seeking an Executive Director, Asset Team Lead to drive strategic positioning of its clinical asset pipeline in oncology and immunology/inflammation. This is a senior strategic leadership role within the Portfolio Team, which operates at the intersection of advanced computational approaches and drug development.
In this role, you will define and drive asset strategy for small molecule clinical programs, translating Recursion's proprietary OS and ClinTech computational insights into strategic advantages. You will develop competitive narratives for each asset, integrating mechanistic differentiation, biomarker strategy, patient segmentation, and competitive positioning to inform go/no-go decisions and portfolio prioritization. You will partner across functional lines—clinical development, business development, finance, and platform teams—to ensure resource allocation reflects strategic conviction and supports the most impactful programs.
You will work as a senior strategic partner to leaders across Clinical Development, Discovery, ClinTech, Platform, and BD, operating in an execution-minded, analytically rigorous environment. The role requires synthesizing scientific complexity into clear, conviction-led recommendations for senior leadership and external partners, while continuously raising the bar on how assets are advanced and delivered to patients with significant unmet need.

REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD in life sciences or related scientific discipline with deep expertise in drug discovery and development (required)
- 10+ years of biotech/pharma experience with proven track record of asset-level strategic leadership, advancing programs through clinical stage-gates with demonstrable impact on portfolio value
- Deep expertise in development of small molecule therapeutics for oncology and immunology/inflammation (required); expertise in rare disease is a bonus
- Experience leveraging computational approaches and data-driven platforms to sharpen asset strategy and clinical decision-making
- Proven ability to build and articulate the strategic and competitive case for clinical assets, integrating mechanistic differentiation, competitive dynamics, regulatory and market considerations
- Strong financial acumen; able to engage credibly on cross-functional resourcing, asset valuation, and portfolio trade-offs
- Exceptional executive presence; able to synthesize complexity into clear, conviction-led recommendations and present with confidence to senior leadership and external partners
