As a Senior Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the Technology department within the Value Delivery organization. This is a customer-facing position where you will work directly with key customers, field sales, delivery teams, and product development. You will leverage your seniority and technical competencies to help large international process and energy industry customers increase productivity, profitability, reduce environmental impact, and lower costs. Customers typically face challenges in asset performance and maintenance, production efficiency, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end architecture and solution design leadership
- Providing strategic and technical expertise to support customers and customer-facing project teams
- Defining enterprise and solution architecture, including integration and data models, data ingestion pipelines, and user-facing solutions
- Expressing complex technical solutions through architecture modeling tools
- Ensuring operational responsibility and support agreements for delivered solutions
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, C-level executives, and IT and Business Data Managers to drive long-term adoption
- Training internal teams and partners in your area of specialization
- Collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management to translate customer needs into product offerings
- Independently managing integration, data modeling, and related activities using Cognite data connectors and extractors, SQL, Python/Java, REST APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google)
- Developing and maintaining technical and business expertise for Cognite's products
You will be expected to be hands-on with Python and possess strong expertise in software development best practices. You must be highly organized, thorough, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders. The role requires ownership and the ability to drive tasks independently, as well as collaborate, lead, and coach others. Travel is required.
Requirements:
- 9+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer
- Technical background with willingness and ability to dive in and contribute code for advanced topics when needed
- Hands-on proficiency in Python
- Strong software development best practices expertise
Preferred Experience:
- Domain experience in Manufacturing, Energy, Oil & Gas, Pharma, or Life Sciences
