Salary: USD 171,120 - 251,600 / annual
Twilio is seeking an Executive Communications Director to serve as the trusted communications partner for the Chief Product & Technology Officer. This is a strategic, highly visible role within Twilio's corporate communications team, responsible for crafting and driving impactful messaging that elevates the CPTO's voice across internal and external audiences while reinforcing Twilio's vision, product strategy, and industry leadership.
You will develop and execute an annual executive communications strategy that positions the CPTO as a transformative leader behind Twilio's innovation story. Key responsibilities include: authoring all content from the CPTO including keynotes, internal presentations, blogs, press releases, and social media; partnering with Product Marketing and Corporate Communications on forward-thinking communications; proposing thought leadership opportunities to elevate R&D leadership visibility; developing content for quarterly Company All Hands meetings and other key internal events; driving communications for change management initiatives within R&D; creating function-level communications and event content that supports Twilio's Builder culture; and building relationships with key partners including the Management Team, R&D Leadership, Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and others.
This role sits within Twilio's corporate communications team and will selectively support the R&D organization and leadership team on various initiatives to share Twilio's innovation story both internally and externally. You will be responsible for developing executive-level content and thought leadership, managing internal and external communications, and supporting change management initiatives to ensure clarity, alignment, and engagement across the R&D organization and beyond.
The role is remote and based on the West Coast, USA, with approximately 25% travel anticipated to connect in-person with customers and colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in communications, including a minimum of 3 years in a dedicated executive communications role
- 5+ years in the tech industry
Desired:
- Experience writing for, working directly with, and influencing CEOs, C-level executives, and SVPs
- Strong executive presence and ability to advise on communications strategy to all levels of the organization
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across R&D, GTM, Marketing, HR, PR, and Internal Comms teams
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong business acumen with exemplary editing and writing skills
- Experience in external-facing thought leadership (blogs, event keynotes, social media)
- Proficiency in creating slide decks for large audience presentations
- Strong ability to synthesize complex topics (AI, data, product strategy) into compelling, digestible content for diverse audiences
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and strategic messaging for executive leaders
